We here at Graboli's are so excited that you've decided to join us to celebrate the life of... well, we'll find out soon! It could be any one of you. In the meantime, here are some things we've had attending memories ask us about our services. We want you to have an ideal experience at Graboli's and find giving you some tools is the best way to facilitate that.

 - How long is THE WAKE?

70-90 minute show run time. Doors will open at 7:00 PM. However, immersive house begins at 7:30 PM. Music, magic, and some expository interaction gently lead into the main attraction: The moment when we discover our deceased for Tonight’s Wake.

 - Is there food?

Nope! Eat beforehand or afterwards. May we recommend a Philadelphia favorite restaurant?
Tattooed Mom's (the sister bar to the studio formerly known as Sugar Mom's) at 530 South St. Serves food late so they'll be open after the Wake is over.

 - Is there alcohol?

Yes - a cash donation bar! What kind of Wake would we be hosting without some drinks. Please note, there is no talking to your bartender. Chalk boards will be provided for acquiring spirits.

 - What should I wear?

We recommend dressing as though you are attending a funeral. We advise against short skirts, high heels, or other movement-prohibitive attire. You will be moving around the space and standing for periods of time (there is some seating if you require it)

 - What should I expect?

The Wake features strong themes of death, memorial, and the beyond. This is a fully immersive experience. Expect that you may be touched by one or more of the actors at some point. Nothing creepy or inappropriate, but in the elevated moments of the experience, you may be touched on your shoulder, back or arm. Please be aware of your surroundings and realize that, at times, actors may move quickly and intensely through the space. We strongly advise against the use of hallucinogenics during the show. (Yes, this has happened.)

  -  Accessibility info?
Unfortunately, at this current venue, The Wake is not an accessible show. There is a flight of stairs to get down into the bar. Very creepy but also prohibitive. If this causes a problem for you in any way, please contact us for a refund. We will also be sure to notify you when it is put on in an accessible space.

 - How do I get there?

The Wake takes place at 225 Church St. in what used to be Sugar Mom's (now the studio of Meg Saligman) in Old City. Currently, Old City Philadelphia is undergoing serious street construction. As such, be aware that parking will be easiest in a garage - we highlighted two options for this on the map. If you are taking public transit, the closest stop is 2nd and Market on the Market Frankford Line. Here is a map of how to get into Sugar Mom’s.

We look forward to your time with us. Blind are the Living, May We Pass in Grace.

Sincerely, The Team at Daniel Graboli's Funeral Practice.
